1. Perform System Update
Simply Run the below apt command to update the system packages:
$ sudo apt update
Then install other required dependencies:
$ sudo apt install wget unzip gnupg2 -y
2. Add Percona Repository
Percona is not available in Ubuntu's repositories. So you must install it in the system.
Start by downloading the Percona release deb file:
$ wget https://repo.percona.com/apt/percona-release_latest.$(lsb_release -sc)_all.deb
Then install the downloaded file:
$ sudo dpkg -i percona-release_latest.focal_all.deb
3. Install Percona Server
To install percona server, run the below command:
$ sudo percona-release setup ps80
Next, execute:
$ sudo apt install percona-server-server
Press Ok to next.
Enter password and press Ok.
Press Enter.
Press Enter and the installation is done.
